The MAS Vocal family consists of a united group of students, parents, alumni, teachers and administrators working toward our goal of building musical skills into performances that inspire our community, country and world. We provide a safe environment for expression using music from a variety of cultures, religions, and time periods. In addition to being musically skilled, MAS Vocal students and alumni will be able to apply the value of hard work, community service, collaboration, and respect to any career they choose.
GRADES 6-8
Vocalists should prepare a solo in their natural voice. A simple hymn, patriotic song, or folk song is required. A cappella performance is preferred. Pop music is not acceptable for the audition.
Applicants will be asked to perform their prepared piece, sight read, and sing a familiar melody. The sight reading will be used for selecting the correct class level and not for admission to the program.
Please bring a photograph to the audition, not to exceed 5”X7” and print your name on the back of the photo with your choice of magnet strand.
